Re: Bimini Mounting Brackets May Break - Sharp Edges or Impact Could Cause Injury
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of Transport Canada, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and other applicable laws. BRP is conducting a safety recall.
What is the potential problem?
The bimini mounting brackets may break suddenly. Boat occupants could come in contact with sharp edges and/or the bimini when the bimini falls. This could lead to serious injuries.
Which models are involved?
Certain serial numbers of MY22 Manitou equipped with a powered bimini with production dates August 1, 2021, to August 1, 2022
What should you do?
- BRP will repair your boat at no cost.
- The repair is to install new mounting brackets with a different design.
- The repair should take less than 1 hour to perform.
- The parts for the repair procedure will begin to be available in the network on September 15, 2022.
Can I continue to use my boat?
Yes. You can continue to use your boat, however you should stop the use of your bimini until the safety recall has been completed. The bimini top needs to stay on its trailer support with the boot installed, regardless of if the boat is moving.
Your safety and continued satisfaction with our products are a priority for us. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and remain committed to facilitating the process as much as we can.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
